Safe Holiday Shopping Tips From Tulu
As we’ve already seen, this holiday season is going to look a little different. The holiday shopping experience is part of that. More than 60 percent of global consumers have changed their shopping habits, and they intend to stick with them. Thankfully in this day and age, there are many shops available online. Even if you have to go out to shop, these safe holiday shopping tips should help keep yourself and others healthy!
Shop Online (and Small)
As much as some love fighting the crowds for the newest toy or most popular jacket in stores, this year it may be safer to shop online instead of risking being indoors in crowded shops and malls. In addition to shopping online, try shopping small this holiday season. Many independent retailers and artists have been hit hard by the pandemic and could use the extra support!
Patronize Outdoor Markets
The CDC has found, indoor spaces are riskier than outdoor spaces where it “might be harder to keep people apart and there’s less ventilation.” One of the more popular parts of the holiday season in Europe is outdoor holiday markets. If you want to go the traditional shopping experience route and there are ones local to you, it’s much safer to shop outdoors this season.
Order Gifts Early
Shipping delays are expected this year as many shoppers move online. Order early to avoid missing out on the joy of giving someone a gift on the actual holiday date and not two weeks late. Ordering gifts early also lessens the chance that your gift won’t arrive in time and you’ll have to go into a crowded shop.
Consider E-Gift Cards
As we’ve seen throughout the pandemic, touchless payments and options have skyrocketed and become the norm. Gifts can also be included in this! Think about sending an e-gift card as a present this year. You don’t have to go out, the recipient doesn’t need to worry about germs and business employees stay safe. It’s a win win.
Think About Timing and Signage
If you do need to go to a store for a specific gift, consider when the least crowded times will be. When you get to a store, look for specific signage about their cleaning and sanitization schedules. If they work with Tulu, you’ll likely see a QR code decal that you can scan to learn important info on the last cleaning, watch videos, leave feedback and more.
Make Your Own Gifts
If finding a gift may be a little difficult, consider making a gift instead. There are many ways to add a personal touch to a gift and it’s often not the price, but the thought you put in that makes the receiver say “wow”! Find out what your receiver likes and consider a nice, wholesome DIY gift for them!
While the holidays might be celebrated a bit differently this year, they should still be celebrated. A thoughtful gift can brighten someones’ mood and especially if they know you stayed safe while purchasing it. Happy Holidays from Tulu!
