Cleaner Spotlight: Larc
In our new Cleaner Spotlight series we’ll be highlighting the work of the people who are on the frontlines of sanitization — cleaners! For our first interview, we sat down with Larc from Sanistaff to discuss his experience as an essential worker during the pandemic, and what he thinks the future of cleaning and sanitizing will look like. Larc has been working with Tulu on helping sporting teams get back in the game and he has shown time and time again his commitment to clean.
How long have you been working in the cleaning industry?
I’ve been working in the cleaning industry for a long time, almost 10 years at this point.
How did you find out about Tulu?
I found out about Tulu through the company I work for, Sanistaff. We help hospitality businesses implement and maintain new disinfection standards and have been working with the hospitality industry for over fifteen years.
What is your favorite part of Tulu’s platform?
The best part of the app is the transparency. I know what I need to clean for each job with the help of the daily checklist. This helps me make sure that I do a thorough job with each clean/disinfection and don’t miss anything.
How have you handled changes to the industry since the start of the pandemic?
There have been many changes since COVID started. Now we have to use PPE for our protection as well as follow new protocols.
You’ve been working on projects in Covid testing labs. Do you feel like the pressure is higher in those environments versus a normal office?
I’ve always taken my job seriously, especially after COVID started. There is always pressure to make sure that I’m following all the correct procedures and guidelines, but I’m used to it.
What does the future of cleaning look like to you?
I think more people will start doing what Tulu is doing with checklists and remote management. This is the future of cleaning. These new protocols that we put in place for COVID are ones that everyone is going to have to follow for now on.
